Que Veux Tu

Yelle makes you feel like dancing!

Oy, so it's been awhile. I can explain. My computer was very old and sickly and really couldn't handle uploading pictures very well.  This lasted until I got my brand spankin' new Macbook Air.  So shiny!! I still have to transfer over a lot files and I haven't figured out how to hook my scanner yet, but I do have a lot of art that I couldn't upload previously.  I've been a busy bee just drawing nearly everyday.  So here's a crapload of art!

                                                              Museum composition

My rat, Cicely, is a daredevil.

I like My Little Pony and I like dinosaurs.

Mandrill.

This is a series of commissions I did for some folks. They are done on illustration board using pencils, markers, paint, and some iridescent nail polish on the crow and the spider.  Unfortunately those colors didn't scan very well.

Blackbuck, ballpoint pen and gel pen.

Another commission I did for a lady of her two dachshunds, done in watercolor.

Yet one more commission done for a friend.

Joshua and I are both kinda bronies.  I drew the cutesy one first and then some folks came up to me and suggested I do the bottom one.  I think it's funny.

Seraphim

Well, that's a bit of an update.  I'll try to do it once a month again, but I gotta get my damn scanner figured out.  One day I will.

Everyday

Buddy Holly So cute :3

I hate to say it, but I've got art block.  It sucks, hardcore.  So that's why this post is late, and it's mostly stuff that I did awhile ago.  I think it happens every time I start a new book. Something about all those blank pages.

A watercolor owl I did for my friend Hannah.

Image totally copied from and artist that I'm blanking on the name of.

Chi Lin!

I saw Life of Pi and have been drawing a lot of tigers.  This was the last page of my previous sketchbook.  I didn't mean to make religious art, but that's sort of what it turned into.

Me and my lover in Adventure Time style.

Little mouse, just playing with mixed media.  Started with markers, then colored over them with pencils, then the copper paint, white charcoal and white gel pen,

Cover of my new book.

Sexy lady and a tiger. Just felt like drawing some ornate jewelry.  It's not done, I feel stuck on it, any suggestions?

Boo to art block.

Rest

Temper Trap I keep going back and forth whether I like these guys or not.  Just depends on my mood I s'pose.

Been feeling pretty groovy lately! Playing around with colored pencils a bit, they are so vibrant on the toned paper! I love it. Also doing watercolor a bit more.  I'm think I'm addicted to color.  I want to rub my eyeballs on it.

So here are some elephants I painted on election night. Everyone's arguing about politics and I'm just in the corner painting to heart's content.  (Unfortunate that elephants are associated with the republican party.)

Inked those sketches of Accordion Bear, and playin with pencils.

Magical Space Unicorn!! And a deer lady and Zoogie.

Drew this with no plan, just wanted to get something down quick with markers then I colored on top of it.

Totally stolen from an artist on DeviantArt.

Doodles for my rats Penny and Cicely.

Animal people!! One of my re-occuring themes it appears.

Trying to so some neat backgrounds in a very illustrative style.  Can't decide if I should color it or not.

Deer lady again!

Naked lady again.  Drawn from an IKEA catalog, but I added the girl and dogs. Excited to finish it.

Feeling productive again! Maybe I'm entering a good creative space :)

Tangle in this trampled Wheat

Tallest Man on Earth I love love love this band.  It reminds me of rain, moss, cold sunlight and my dear friend Ella.

I've been having a good drawing month.  Feeling creative and confident in my ability.  I don't draw everyday like I use to, really only one big drawing day on Wednesday, but it works.

I've joined a D&D group with a few of my coworkers.  It's really quite fun. This  is one of my coworker's characters, Audre the Ignorant.  She's a shaman and a sort of darker character. I did this in watercolor, white gel pen, blue pencil, and micron pens.

This is my character, Reina. She's a pretty lady knight.  She isn't very smart, but she's strong and well loved.  I have to redo her though because the armor isn't historically accurate.

More character drawings of Reina and Argus her horse.  I really love drawing horses, I don't think I'll ever get sick of it.

Done for Ella, she decided that bison were her spirit animal.  This was really fun, I did flat color in markers then did the detail in colored pencil. I really like that process and I'll probably continue doing it.

Little doodle of me with my new hair :) And a unicorn for good measure.

Doodle I did at work, I don't wanna sound pervy or anything, but I was really proud of how I drew this lady's breasts :P

Figure drawin!

Going back to my plant people ideas.  This concept works phenomenally better in pen and ink than oils

Some little cartoon Emily's and Zoogie's

It's octopus October!

Some little motion drawings of Accordion Bear dancing

A copy of Brom's painting, Gazelle.  It's a lovely piece.

So that's what I've got! I'm pretty pleased with my artistic ability at the moment, I hope I can keep it up!

Thrift Shop

Macklemore This song had been on repeat for the last two days :) It's so funny!

September! I've been kinda having art block lately. I hate art block, really there's nothing quite so frustrating as not being able to create anything. Making art is such an essential part of my being and when I can't communicate my ideas visually it's kind of unsettling.  I think it's partly because of my new book.  I got this blue lead, which I like for preliminary sketching, but it's so so so light. I feel like my art is lacking the vibrancy it once had.  I've started going back to ball point pen and markers, but now my line quality really bothers me.  It's definitely a process.  Anywhoooo, here's some art stuffs.

First page of eery new book will always have some Banjo Rat stuff I've decided.

So this is the blue pencil stuff. I like this concept for the drawing, but it needs color.  I just don't know how to go about it. Any suggestions?

Blue pencil and white chalky/charcoal pencil.  This is doctored in photoshop so you can actually see it.

This is me.  Drawing what I wear is really fun, I like cute clothes :)

Switching to marker, I love the prismacolor, goldenrod, on the toned paper.

It was Allosaurus August in my drawing group :)

Went back to ballpoint pen and white gel pen.  I like it, but I feel more cautious and timid with it since I've been drawing with pencil again.

This is me at work ;)

More blue pencil stuff.  I'm totally addicted to Game of Thrones and decided to do a bit of fan art.

Feeling so cramped artistically, I switched to my crap sketchbook and just played around.  This is Inktense watercolor pencil and then marker.  It was good to just do some loose stuff that I didn't care about.

Really liked how it turned out in my crap book so I went bak to my toned paper.  I loved that I could add white charcoal and just regular lead pencil. I love Mucha ladies, as I know I've said before, and I've been really into filigree lately so I combined them.

It was so much fun, so I just kept drawing.  It was really rewarding to have a good long art night where creativity really felt like it was flowing.

Loving drawing pretty ladies and amazing hair, I drew a picture of a girl I know, Azin.  It's very stylized, but she's an absolutely beautiful person. It was fun to draw.

So hopefully I've started to turn a new leaf and get over this boring phase I've been in.  Being so inspired by art nouveau with its gorgeous decorative style. I'm really happy with the markers and their line quality. I really hope it continues.
