Sun Hands

Local Natives More hipster music.

This blog post is dedicated to my manager, Mitch,  who has asked me to draw him so many times that he's becoming my default doodle.  He also introduced me to all the hipster music that I've been listening to lately.

He asked me to draw him riding a werewolf.  He has this hanging on his door now.

I drew him riding on a unicorn, apparently the unicorn represents a girl for him.

He asked me to draw a tattoo design for him.  This is his watch and the numbers are significant to him or something.  He suggested that I become a tattoo artist, and honestly, I'm considering it.  It's a way to get paid for the art I do so I'm looking into tattoo apprenticeships.

Bored one day and he just showed up on my paper.  This one really looks like him.

His bike got stolen and he was sad so I made him a commemorative cookie in the shape of his bicycle.  He also likes sharks so he got some shark cookies as well.  Cookie art!

There are many more doodles of him at work that I did on receipt paper.  He also has a picture I drew of him taped to his wallet.  He's shown up in other blog posts, I don't think I've ever drawn the same person so many times. I don't mind doing it though, because he really really appreciates my art.  He gives me that ego boost and the praise that we all love.  When people like my art a lot, I'm more likely to do things for them.

I am ready I am ready for a fall

Hot Chip Fun stuff, and this music video is really really cool.

Sketchbook stuff!! Oh it feels so good to do page after page of drawings.

This is a character sheet of me.  I feel like if I think of myself as one of my characters, then I can be a stronger person. It helps me feel like I can handle all the big changes in my life.

Some big hipped women

Rooster done with inktense pencils.  It felt good to kinda abuse the paper for this

Commission of a tattoo design for a coworker.

Fancy birds

Sometimes I really hate my job.

Woman on fire.  Referenced from a Mucha painting.

Just a crappy doodle.

This one has been in my sketchbook forever.  It still doesn't feel done.

Banjo Rat stuff.

I wanna fill up this book.  I feel like I'm taking forever with it.

Million Dollar Bill

Middle Brother Just got this CD and giving it a first listen.  I'm liking it so far :)

So I have been working on the most awesome personal project for the last month or so.  Finally finished it today. So excited! I made maquettes  of Banjo Rat, Trumpet Muskrat, and Accordion Bear! I made them out of Sculpey clay over a tin foil armature, painted them with acrylics, and ordered the tiny instruments from a christmas ornament site in Arizona.  Fun times indeed.  Banjo Rat is about 7 inches tall, Trumpet Muskrat about 6, and Accordion Bear about 8 1/2.

Some in process photos of Banjo Rat :)

And the finished pieces!

Love that smile!

That little trumpet brings my great joy.  Even though Trumpet Muskrat was probably the most difficult to do.

Custom painted that accordion too :)

The whole band!

I'm totally gonna jam out with this little dude :)
