Bugs

O Death I sure do love banjo music.

Well it's been awhile! I've got lots of arts and doodles to share :)

This is Fiddle Possum, she's a minor character in the Banjo Rat story, but thought I'd flesh her out anyway.

This is my sister!

I've been having an interesting sort of art block lately.  I can't draw anything without reference and it's very frustrating.  A few of my art friends said I should just draw random shapes and see what comes of them.  My friend Jon drew some shapes and I got to make them into what I wanted.  Except the tiger.  He drew the shape and said, not make this a tiger.  It's fun to get out my habits of drawing the same basic shapes for characters.

Jon was drawing medusas in he sketchbook and he influenced me.  Proud to say that this in entirely from my brain! No refs used :)

This is from my life drawing class.  Our model was set up in front of a window so we had two light sources.  I had this division of space and I just threw in the lady and the dogs from my imagination.  My professor loved it.  I do it.  I think it's hilarious.

More from my plant people series.  This is my most recent work in progress.

Finished "Bloom"

This one doesn't have a title yet.

Revisited "Seed" Added the same bark/weedy elements in the background.  It's much more congruent with the rest of the series I think.  I might still change it up though.  I want to make the figure a woman so that it has a consistent narrative throughout the series.

Art and drawing really is my sanctuary in these stressful times of school, papers, graduating, applying to grad school, jobs, finances, relationships, boys, friends, roommates, figuring out where I'm living.  Man, sometimes it feels like the only thing keeping me grounded is the fact that I get to doodle away in sketchbook.  There's always time for a quick little drawing.
