I'll look around

Madeleine Peyroux I sure like smooth French ladies singing jazzy tunes.

March is crazy! I've finally finished two of my sketchbooks that I've had forever.

Continuing with the funny dog portraits, this wolfhound reminds me of my mom :)

And this Golden reminds me of my dad and my mentor Chris Fasy :)

Sketchbook stuff done with Chris Fasy's Faber Castle Pitt markers

Done for my best friend's dad (practically my second dad) Mark Stevenson

Coyote!

Felt like drawing a Mucha figure, but messed up the eye so now she's a pirate.  Also a tribal bunny figure that came to me while I as hiking.

Dogs!

Gemsbok

Random beasty thing

It's supposed to be a bear, but it looks more like a wolf :(

Whew, I got a new apartment this month, so it's been kinda crazy, but hopefully I'll have lots more stuff for  April :)

Carousels

Beirut  I like this band because the have an accordion in a lot of their songs :)

I've been super productive lately! Lots and lots of art, I received a bunch of Prismacolor markers and have fallen madly in love with the medium.  So here's a shout out to Eric Jenson, thanks for markers! They changed my life!

Learning how to use them was kinda tricky as well. I'd never done a whole picture in markers so these pretty much go in order of just barely knowing what I was doing to having a pretty good grasp of the medium.

Some self portraits, mostly I was excited about all the colors! So vivid!

Wouldn't you want this banjo on a t-shirt?  I would.

This piece is for Chris Fasy, who told me that if you color in circles with the markers, you don't get that streaking that's so prominent in the early pieces. Thanks Fasy!

Also been doing just sketchbook stuff.  Been in a big horse mood lately.  I can't help it, they are such beautiful creatures, I don't care if it's totally girly and cliche :)

Realism!

Some Banjo Rat stuff for good measure :)

I love being in such a creative space, I've never been so productive.  Hopefully I keep it up!

Before you go

Ok Sweetheart Just discovered this band and I love them! Such soft sweet music :)

January! So I've graduated from college!! I've got my a fancy BFA that is incredibly valuable.  I had to say that otherwise my mom would get mad at me ;) Quite frankly, I'm more than a little scared about what to do next.  I feel like my degree is useless for getting a job, but infinitely worth it when it comes to the development of my skills.  So hopefully things will even out.  I suppose we'll just see.  Anywhooo, enough of my bantering, let's get on with the doodles!

Everyone I know got drawings for the holidays :) This is for my very good friend, Madi,  of her and her dog, Berlin.

Finished up this sketch, very pleased with how it turned out.

More animal ladies, I want to do a series of paintings of them

Present for my mom.  My parents love walking on our mountain trails with our dogs

Present for my sister, Jessie.

Just a pretty doodle.  It definitely needs something, but I don't know what. Suggestions are always appreciated!

Wanted to draw a wolf for my friend, Owen, but I didn't have any reference and it came out looking  angry like the wolf had been shot.  So I shot him. And gave him some whiskey to soothe his pain :)

Doodles of my sweet little fat rat, Raisin. The one of her smiling on the left is totally how she use to look.

Present for my friend, Alyana. When I gave it to her, she said she wanted to get it tattooed on her, a very high compliment

Doodle of a minotaur man.

18x24 oil on masonite portrait of my dog, Zoogie! He's my guy! I'm really happy with how this turned out and it was a lot of fun to do.

Now that I'm done with school hopefully I'll just work on my own stuff and paint paint paint.

Get Gone

Fiona Apple Angry girl music.  Sometimes it just hits the spot.

Holy balls, the semester ends in a week! I don't know what I'm gonna do when I wont have the structure of school.  I'll be a college graduate! With a useless degree! That's what grad school is for I guess.  I'm pretty nervous though, my new dream is to make a studio in my garage and hide away from the world and paint.  I don't want to deal with the real world of finding a career and living expenses and all that. Anywho... Here's some art from my last semester of school!

Mucha inspired

More Mucha-esque stuff

Self portrait

From my life drawing class :)

This was my final for life drawing.  It's a little raunchy, but people laughed that's what I wanted. Ah, the joys of dating life :)

Finished piece from the plant people series. This one is called "Offer"

This semester was really quite productive for me.  I feel like I really developed my style. I'm quite drawn to the raunchy humor, and I have a bunch of funny sketches that are quite crude and inappropriate I love doing them! Making light of things that really bother me with quite cathartic :)
